Affliction
Affliction has been wandering around in my head since I read volume two of "Tales of the Slayers". It is a vampire story set in late 18th century France, and is one of my favorite plot lines of all of my stories so far. ^_^Affliction is the story of Gabrielle, the childhood playmate, servant, and best friend of Richart D'letre, a young noble whose mother was murdered by a vampire. Driven by revenge, Richart and Gabrielle become vampire hunters, killing the monsterous murderers that plague the nearby city of Marseilles. However, after almost ten years of hunting on what little money was left to Richart after his father drank and gambled it all away, the two go broke, and decide to cut their losses, gather funds, and retire to the country, to live the rest of their lives together, in peace.
But Gabrielle has attracted that attention of a powerful vampire intent on turning her into a vampire, as well. And she's not strong enough to resist him...
